Esalen® Bodywork is a hands-on treatment performed entirely by hand using oil.
The long, gentle strokes are slow and calm, as if time has stood still, inviting you to breathe deeply and engage in a dialogue with your inner self.
For this event, we are offering private sessions conducted by two therapists.
The venue is a pleasant private home with a view of the Kamakura ocean in the distance.
No special items are required. Please come with an open mind ready for self-reflection.

Dates: November 16 (Mon), 17 (Tue), 18 (Wed)
Location: A private residence with ocean views,
a 15-minute walk from Shichirigahama Station on the Enoshima Electric Railway
Therapists: Toru Naito, Yuriko Komatsu
Times: ① 10:00 AM~ ② 2:00 PM~ ③ 6:00 PM~
(One person per session; 3 sessions per day × 2 time slots)
Each session lasts approximately 2.5 hours (90-minute treatment).
Fee: 18,000 yen (advance bank transfer required)

The Esalen Institute, the birthplace of Esalen® Bodywork, is located in Big Sur, California, a scenic area surrounded by the ocean and mountains—much like Kamakura. Since the 1960s, it has served as a hub for the Human Potential Movement, where young people seeking freedom and peace explored the limits of human potential.
At that time, the San Francisco Zen Center—which played a key role in spreading Zen in the United States—was located in this region, making it a place where the spirit of Eastern Zen intersected with Western psychology and the exploration of human growth. Esalen® Bodywork is also influenced by Zen practices such as awareness through the body and meditation.
As part of the “Zen 2.0” and “Kamakura Mindful City Week” events, we are offering Esalen® Bodywork this time and look forward to providing sessions to new participants.
